Not paying buyer agent fee
You might have heard the buzz about sellers no longer having to pay buyer agent commissions. But here's the reality - out of 670 recent listings, 669 sellers still offered fees to buyer's agents. Only 1 offered nothing!
Why is that? Well, sellers have always been able to offer zero commission to buyer's agents. But most chose not to because it attracts more buyers to their listing. More buyers = better sale price.
Even with these new rules allowing sellers to cut out that fee, the vast majority are still offering competitive rates to buyer's agents. It simply makes good business sense to incentivize those agents to show your home to their clients.
Now that buyers have to pay their agents directly or get credits from sellers, having an attractive buyer agent commission is more important than ever for your listing to stand out. It matters to the buyers bottom line now.
So if you're selling your home, don't be penny wise and pound foolish. Offering a fee in line with the competition to buyer's agents could pay off big in getting the right buyers through your door and buy your house.
