When buying a re-sale home, rather than only relying on the owners and their information, buyer should seek out information from a third party. Inspections from companies whose job is to identify and report their findings. Depending on the types of homes, there can be many types of inspections.
If you are buying a condo or a townhome, then you do not need to get exterior condition inspections as the HOA will be responsible for maintenance and repairs.
Single Family Homes, the owner is responsible for everything, so exterior inspections would be required.
